EllisFam Interviews

I have asked for the EllisFam to do a small 8 question interview so that we may get to know one another and how The Jason Ellis Show has changed or impacted our lives. These are their reply’s, unedited and all in their own words. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do, and thank you to everyone who participated. Without you all this wouldn’t be possible.

Chris Walker (@Walkerman75)

  1. Where do you live? Indianapolis, Indiana
  2. What is your occupation? Account manager for real estate title search company
  3. Tell me a little about yourself. 35, son is 12 daughter is 10, passion for family and loyalty, sober, huge Pearl Jam fan
  4. How long have you listened to TJES? Over 3 years total, everyday for 2 years
  5. How did you discover TJES? Knew his name from when i skated as a kid, heard his name later on other radio shows when they talked trash cuz they were scared of him, started to listen and quickly realized TJES was the best
  6. What keeps you listening to TJES? Honesty, loyalty, knowledge, support, humor, confidence and commitment you find in the show and fam that is rarely seen in the world anymore.
  7. Has the show changed or impacted you life in any way? How? Yes, multiple ways in many aspects of my life. The biggest would be helping me find myself again, digging that person out of the self imposed shit and helping that man fight to be better everyday.
  8. Is there anything else you would like to share? Finding the show and being introduced to many of it’s family has truly been life changing for me. I would like to say thanks, not just from myself but also from every member of my family who made me promise to do so when I had this chance. Those closest to me know how integral a part TJES and EllisFam is to me being alive today. I will never stop listening and will always give back every chance I get. Thank you.

Dave’s not here! (@BooozyTheClown)

  1. Where do you live? Henderson, NV (suburb next to Vegas, 20 min from the Strip)
  2. What is your occupation? I work for the family business, Legacy Electric, as a Project Manager and AutoCAD (computer aided design) drafter.
  3. Tell me a little about yourself. Born in Anaheim, CA but have lived most of my life in the surrounding areas of Vegas. Graduated High School in ’99 from Boulder City (small town formed when the Hoover Dam was being built). Joined the Navy in 2000 and was stationed on the USS Belleau Wood (LHA-3) out of San Diego until 2004 where I was then reassigned to the Pacific Missile Range Facility (PMRF) in Kauai, HI until 2006. Met my wife on that island and married her in 2007 and divorced three years later…yay! My 6 yrs of service allowed me to travel all over the western hemisphere and last year finally made it to Europe and was able to visit 6 countries, Switzerland was my favorite but Amsterdam was a good fucking time…from what I remember!!
  4. How long have you listened to TJES? I, like a lot of people, subscribed to Sirius for Stern but when one day while scrolling through the channels in 2007 I came across The Jason Ellis Show and listened for about 5 minutes before I decided this guy’s an idiot and I turned it off. The next day same thing except I never turned it off and haven’t stopped laughing since.
  5. How did you discover TJES? I think I just answered that one.
  6. What keeps you listening to TJES? Well I hate to say it but it’s like Stern…what is he going to say next. I just get his humor and love the honesty of the show.
  7. Has the show changed or impacted you life in any way? How? It’s definitely changed my outlook on certain issues and I feel like I have more of an open mind to things that before I didn’t care to acknowledge. I think gay marriage would be the biggest one.
  8. Is there anything else you would like to share? Final calls suck! I think there is so much time wasted on people who don’t know how to use a phone or just get to nervous. That’s the only complaint I have with the show. Everything else is great and love the little family we’ve established here.
Thanks for having me!

Cody McCraw (@Cody_McCraw92)

  1. Where do you live? I live in Coal Valley, IL. It’s part of the Quad Cities, which consists of 4 cities (2 in IL and 2 in IA) that lie on the Miss. River.
  2. What is your occupation? I work as a Package Handler at UPS while attending college for a degree in Communications/Broadcasting.
  3. Tell me a little about yourself. I’m a musician (guitar, bass, and drums) and a life-long Chicago Blackhawks fan. Hockey and music are my two greatest passions and I center my life around them. I’m young compared to the rest of Ellisfam, only 20 years old, but I feel just as much a part of this band of misfits and miscreants as anyone else. Like Rawdog, I love music and science, but I have WAY better taste in music. I’m a lot like Tully when it comes to wit and being the “voice of reason”. I’m Straightedge, which means I don’t drink, smoke, or do drugs. I always thought that stuff was stupid and never got into it. I’m of Irish (as evident by my last name), Cherokee, Blackfoot, and German decent. I’m just a really laid-back guy who likes to have fun and meet new people.
  4. How long have you listened to TJES? I’ve been listening since the Little Coffee Foot/Bitch Chocolate days so roughly 5-6 years. I listen every day and to all 4 hours. I’ve never missed a show since I started listening.
  5. How did you discover TJES? I get Sirius with my DISH TV package and just stumbled upon it one day as they were making fun of the Lucky Charms guy and I laughed harder than I ever had in my life. From then on, I was hooked.
  6. What keeps you listening to TJES? What keeps me listening is the feeling of brotherhood and family I get when listening to Jason, Rawdog, and Tully. It just feels like I’m talking with my best friends every day and they always make me laugh harder than anything else.
  7. Has the show changed or impacted you life in any way? How? The show has had a big impact on my life. Because of the show, I decided to follow my dream of being on radio. Ellis has also inspired me to never give up and they have always helped me get through dark times by making me laugh. The other big effect the show has had on me is the second family I now have in EllisFam. It’s really cool having this connection with people you’ve never met, yet feel as though you’ve been friends for years. We truly are a family and I wouldn’t trade it for anything in the world.
  8. Is there anything else you would like to share? The last thing I want to add is…..LET’S GO MARLINS!! hahaha RED DRAGONS MOTHERFUCKERS!!! Stay Frosty!

Branden (@CrackerStacker6)

  1. Where do you live? Coos Bay, Or.
  2. What is your occupation? Sales Rep for a Grocery Distributor.
  3. Tell me a little about yourself. I’m 25, happily married with a baby on the way. Love my wife, lovey unborn child and excited to be a dad. Not a big action sports guy, mostly into college football and UFC. Although, listening to TJES has sparked an interest in Moto. I work about 50 hours a week so spare time is hard to come by. I find joy in reading, writing, movies; basically anything with a story. I work out a lot, mostly crossfit type stuff because we don’t have an MMA gym in this Podunk town. My life is simple: I work, come home to my family in progress and cook dinner which is one of my talents, and go to sleep. I could turn this into an essay but I’ll save you the time by saying I worked hard to get my life the way it is and I love the simplicity.
  4. How long have you listened to TJES? About 3 years or so.
  5. How did you discover TJES? I was flipping through channels on Sirius’ free trial and heard some shock collar jeopardy something or other and I was hooked.
  6. What keeps you listening to TJES? The brutal honesty coming from the three hosts. And how it is the most interactive show out there. Hearing Tully or Rawdog read one of my tweets and getting a big laugh is the biggest “fuck yeah!” feeling there is.
  7. Has the show changed or impacted you life in any way? How?I was a bit of a reckless psychotic drunk when I started listening. Hearing what Jason has had to say on life has caused me to re-evaluate a lot of things involving responsibility, attitude, maturity and overall open mindedness. It really has helped me be a better and more mature 25 year old.
  8. Is there anything else you would like to share? The only quirky thing about me is my uncanny knowledge of dreams and how the human brain functions when sleeping. I took an interest in it when I was a kid and had really vivid, lucid dreams. Ever since I can remember I have read every study or encyclopedia on dreams I could get my hands on.
Thanks dude,

mike in canada eh? 中 (@mike_in_canada)

  1. Where do you live? I live in Edmonton Alberta Canada.
  2. What is your occupation? As far as I see it, my job is to making people laugh and I’m fucking good at it. Of course I have no statistical evidence of this, nor do I receive any compensation or nudie photos.
  3. Tell me a little about yourself. In my own head I’m the sickest dude ever and I’m sweet to bring to parties.  Did I mention that I’m incredibly narcissistic? Just kidding. #NotReally
  4. How long have you listened to TJES? Nearly 3 years.
  5. How did you discover TJES? Actually, I got in a really bad car accident where I don’t remember anything that happened before or after the crash. When I woke up in the hospital, I was told that my car was demolished beyond repair. The next day I went to get a rental car which just so happened to have Sirius in it, and when I turned the car on it was on Faction 28.  It was completely by chance, or fate, or God (whatever you want to call it) that I found the show and I’ve been listening ever since.
  6. What keeps you listening to TJES? I used to skate, when I was younger, and I had a picture of Ellis doing the Mega Ramp on my wall. So after my car accident, when I found his show, I heard a guy that transitioned from being a pro skater to the overlord of radio – it made me think that I could transition myself into anything I wanted to, as long as I was willing to work for it.
  7. Has the show changed or impacted you life in any way? How? I’m not a guy that’s going to tell you Ellis made me lose 200lbs or anything like that, but the way it changed me is from the people I’ve met and interacted with.  There’s such kindness and good vibes within the Ellisfam that it’s pretty special to be a part of.  Having people tell me that something I said made them laugh or made their day is really cool, and it powers me through the days that aren’t so great.
  8. Is there anything else you would like to share? One day I’m going be a writer for the Jason Ellis Show, just fucking try to stop me. Oh and follow me on twitter… @mike_in_canada.
