EllisFam Interviews
I have asked for the EllisFam to do a small 8 question interview so that we may get to know one another and how The Jason Ellis Show has changed or impacted our lives. These are their reply’s, unedited and all in their own words. I hope you enjoy this as much as I do, and thank you to everyone who participated. Without you all this wouldn’t be possible.
John (@johntheroofer73)
- Where do you live? Red Hill, Alabama
- What is your occupation? Superintendent for a roofing company
- Tell me a little about yourself. I’ve been married for 20 years,we have 3 children 18,16 boys & 8 my baby girl. I’m 39 & been roofing for 21 years. 11 of those years I was self employed. I also owned & operated a retail sea food company for a short time. I hunt, fish&garden among other outdoors activities.I’m pretty outspoken & I call it like I see it. I was a volunteer trained & certified firefighter/ first responder from ’96-02. Graduated the fire college in 97.
- How long have you listened to TJES? December 07. I got a new work truck equipped with XM.
- How did you discover TJES? I listen to metal so as I’m surfing the channels I stop on faction because Metallica is playing. Then I here this outback voice, catch his name & remember he was a vert dude from the day.
- What keeps you listening to TJES? The funny stuff they do. Like Bisping voice, the interns & the action sports life style.
- Has the show changed or impacted you life in any way? How? Helped me make up my mind to quit cigarettes for the second & final time. If I quit cold turkey so can all of you.
- Is there anything else you would like to share? I would like to meet more #EllisFam hopefully & EM9 or which everyone works so I can visit my brother in Maui. I’ve only met 1 #EllisFam & he is Gerald aka @Cornbread_RDS . #StayFrosty my friends.

- Where do you live? Right now I live in DC but fucking hate it and the East Coast. I’m moving back to Portland, OR next month and it can’t happen soon enough.
- What is your occupation? Right now I’m Active Duty in the US Army. That’s why I’m in DC. But pretty soon I’m going to be a broke Graduate Student getting my Masters Degree in Sociology. That’ll be fun.
- Tell me a little about yourself. I’m married, 29 and have a dog. I’m in the #WolfKnives, I am The White Power Ranger. I’ve been in the military 11 years. I’m from the West Coast and can’t wait to move back. My favorite cereal is Cinnamon Toast Crunch and I pray every night that the cast of the Jersey Shore gets leprosy.
- How long have you listened to TJES? I’ve listened to TJES since May 2010. Not near as long as some folks but I do my best to listen every day.
- How did you discover TJES? I was driving across the country and flipping through my new Sirius radio in my car. I’m pretty sure they were kicking someone or maybe interviewing a porn star. It caught my attention and I was hooked.
- What keeps you listening to TJES? Ellis’ commitment to his fans and RawDog. I was a lot like RawDog growing up. Nerdy, smallish, weak, awkward with girls. And I had a friend that was like Jason. He kicked my ass in gear, made me work out, gain some confidence and grow up. The dynamic between Jason, RawDog and Tully is fantastic. Fuck Tully
- Has the show changed or impacted you life in any way? How? The show has definitely impacted me. It’s motivated me to train in Muay Thai. It’s pushed me to run a 1/2 marathon and never quit. The show has also showed me that people all over the place have it rough but we all have that in common and we’re all a lot tougher than we think.
- Is there anything else you would like to share? Being part of #EllisFam is great. Outsiders don’t get it but we really are a family. No one’s a stranger even if I’ve never met you. It’s the most dysfunctional, hardcore family on Earth and it’s awesome.

Show Re-cap For Friday 8/10/2012
Led Zeppelin needs to come back, or 80’s glam rock. One of them. Because older women need some shit to listen to and I guess reminisce about. Big, crispy hair, the Brat Pack, it’s all going to bring back memories of when they had a tighter box. Ellis had a couple meetings, some good news, some bad news, some hidden news, some mediocre news, and he can’t talk about any of that shit, so fuck it. It’s Friday. You know Tom Cruise? I mean, not know him, but know who he is? You do, right? He’s that chick that got married to that younger, taller dude? His full name is Thomas Cruise Mapother IV. It looks like Superman IV, and he just might be the Superman of skin care cream. Ellis is talking about getting on more channels, and I don’t care what you say, because that would be awesome like Blossom. Rawdog’s friend “Mr. X” had a question about after he came on his chick, she licked it up, and then wanted to kiss him. Sounds like it was all meant as a silly after sex joke thing, but Mr. X has to put a stop that shit if he don’t want it. Homey don’t play that snowball game.
Anne Hathaway. Tully will accept the fact that you may think she’s pretty, but he will not accept the fact that you may find her sexually attractive. And according to Ellis, she most likely has a smelly ass – he can just tell. And according to me, she’s the type of girl that would snowball her boyfriend as a joke. So it has been said, and now written, and so it shall be. It’s the law of the land. Who wins between a vampire, a predator, a liken, and aliens? Who gives a shit? Some bored dude thinks Google is racist because he thinks one of their Google Doodles depicts a black man running on a watermelon track. That’s fucking ridiculous. Google is racist because they depicted that same black man holding one of the “O”‘s in one Google Doodle, and then the next day that same “O” was missing.
Some chick that battled bulimia, which left her without a gag reflex, was demonstrating how she has no gag reflex and accidentally swallowed a butter knife. What makes this fucking whack is, this isn’t the first time she accidentally swallowed a goddamned knife. Women. Tully’s looking for a good, reliable opiate pill to take – which we all know Rude Jude could hook him up like a rock star – but regardless, as one might imagine, TJES listeners had tons of suggestions. I don’t even remember how this topic got started, but there was a debate on whether you’d rather fight a horse sized duck, or a bunch of duck sized horses. I haven’t started tonight’s pill poppin’ party yet so I can’t give a well thought out answer to that. But what I can give you an answer to is the question your mom is always asking – “hey baby, want some company?” And the answer to that is: Put your hands behind your back and get on your knees, you’re being arrested for prostitution. OH!

- Where do you live?I live in Warren, Ohio about 45 miles south of Cleveland. Hope to live I am Awesome World some day.
- What is your occupation?I am a factory worker in a rubber factory and I am also a full time student.
- Tell me a little about yourself.I am 42 years old with a wife and 3 kids. (18, 17, 13) Former Navy veteran and world traveler. I pass the time listening to music, reading and camping.
- How long have you listened to the show? Since @Ellismate was a dj at night on Faction, I believe. It’s been 5 or 6 years now. I do know it was right after he and Andrea split the first time though.
- How did I discover the show? I would usually listen to Faction on my drive home from work at night and there was this interesting radio personality with an accent that seemed to talk about the most outlandish things. I believe that what really caught my attention was one night when Ellis had a woman on the phone and he was asking her “you ever smoke marijuana out of your cookie?” I was hooked after that!
- What keeps you listening to TJES? The fact that the whole crew just keeps it real is what keeps me around. Those guys are the funniest radio guys I have ever heard. Not a day goes by that I’m not laughing my head off. It’s at the point that I feel like they are part of my family and have a genuine love for all of them.
- Has the show changed or impacted you life in any way? How? The main impact is that I now know that there are dudes out there that are pretty similar to me. Their lives are similar, their problems are similar and their senses of humor are similar. I don’t feel alone any longer.
- Is there anything else you would like to share? #rudejudesday is my favorite day on the show. I really hope he becomes a regular part of the show like Ellismate occasionally eludes to. I like how Tully, Rumble Mctumble and Young Wing are on all of our levels and not a group of pompous jackasses. And finally, in my best Church of Haden voice….RED DRAGGGGGOOOOOONS!
